AI holds great potential to transform healthcare, and the Catalan Administration is committed to using it as a support tool for both clinical care and health management. A responsible and sustainable approach is essential, one that draws on a deep understanding of healthcare problems and on proven practices within the sector. The Secretary for Digital Policies of the Catalan Government, Maria Galindo, will introduce this perspective, and Albert Sabater Coll, Serra Húnter Associate Professor at the University of Girona and Director of the Observatory for Ethics in Artificial Intelligence of Catalonia (OEIAC) will expand on its ethical foundations. The case of ABCDx, a company developing rapid, mobile neuro-vascular diagnosis solutions, will be presented by Juan Gonzalez Fraile (ABCDx & PickleTech), serving as an example of how innovation can align with these principles. Ultimately, we advocate for a care-centered view of AI in healthcare, grounded in ethical principles that go beyond efficiency or operational performance to ensure trust and impact.
