Max Planck Institute for the Structure and Dynamics of Matter

The Max Planck Institute for the Structure and Dynamics of Matter (MPSD)
investigates the structure and properties of matter down to its atomic and
electronic motions, on the ultrashort timescales of femtoseconds and
attoseconds. At present, the Institute is mainly active in condensed matter
physics, combining experimental, theoretical and computational methods to study
electronic, structural and functional properties as well as the dynamics of
novel materials and nanostructures.

The Scientific Support Unit for Computational Science (https://cs.mpsd.mpg.de)
at the MPSD
(https://mpsd.mpg.de) supports ongoing research at the Institute in all areas
relevant to the use of computation for research. This includes software
engineering for research software, high performance computing, the design and use of
computer simulation, the analysis of experimental data sets, data visualisation,
reproducibility of results and re-usability of software.
